Be Fearless! {And May Freebie!}
Fear. We all experience it at some time or another. Maybe it’s the fear of moving to a new place, fear of failure, or it might be fearing spiders or trying a new restaurant. Sometimes our fears seem so astronomical we hold ourselves back from going after something we really want.
Fear is something I experience daily, especially when it comes to building my company. Most of the time my fears have to do with failing. Failing at getting clients, failing at creating exciting and beautiful designs, failing at paying my rent. No doubt my fellow business owners often feel the same way.
But how do we cope with fear? How do we become fearless? Well an important step to understand is what it really means to be fearless. A standard definition would be that a person would be without fear, but really, being fearless means to be brave or courageous. And to have courage means doing something that frightens us, or doing something despite our fears.
There are a few things I try to focus on to be fearless. First, to combat the negative fears that creep up in my mind, I try to focus on the positive. How many times have we heard that if we think negative, negative things will happen, but if we think positive, positive things will happen? I know I’ve heard this a lot, and I truly believe it works. Next, I’m a list maker, so I make a list of things of all my dreams and all the things I can do to help my dreams succeed. It is always little things like: contact these two people about your business or write a blog post about _____ topic. Writing things down makes us accountable so if I write my list of tasks down (with little checkmark boxes by them) there is a good chance I’ll accomplish them. Finally, and this is a big step for me- I say a little prayer and I just take the plunge.
So, in honor of conquering my fear of writing blog posts, I created a Facebook cover, desktop wallpaper, smartphone wallpaper and tablet wallpaper for you all to inspire you to be fearless too!
