She Believed She Could… So She Did {July Freebie!}

I’ve had the wonderful privilege of being surrounded by incredibly smart, brave, strong, kind and beautiful women. I’ll take a moment and just brag on a couple of amazing women who are very close to me: my mom and grandmother.

My grandmother was a teacher in Taiwan at a time when women didn’t really receive an education. She was the only girl in her graduating class and one of the only women who taught at the high school level. When my mom was 19, the family packed their bags and immigrated to the United States. My grandparents started new in this country and opened a Chinese restaurant. My mom had to learn a new language, work for her parents and attend college.

Throughout my lifetime, these two women have been so strong. Even through difficult times and through challenges, they always remained generous and kind to others. Now, the two of them spend time volunteering to help others and continually provide an example of love, loyalty and kindness. My hope is to be a fraction of a person as they are. There are also so many other amazing women I have in my life. Women who emulate all the amazing qualities my mom and grandma have. Women who have endured trials with grace and compassion. Women who are brave enough to be business owners, moms, wives, grandmothers and amazing friends all at the same time. I could go on and on, but I’ll stop myself as you have probably stopped reading this post by now (lol).
