Thank You & Always Believe Something Wonderful Is About To Happen {February Freebie!}
A year ago today (February 8, 2016), I woke up from a restless night’s sleep and decided to start Melody Grace Designs. The decision was not an easy one. I had been unemployed for a month, having been let go from my resource development position at a local nonprofit, and I couldn’t seem to find the right next job. The previous night (February 7, 2016), I had spent the whole night thinking about what I truly enjoyed doing in all the previous work I’ve done, and it always came back to creating programs, invitations, brochures, etc… for all my past employers. So after praying all night, I woke up with a clear head and had made my decision to start my own graphic design company.
That day, I also had to go visit my former place of employment to pick up a package that had been mailed there by mistake, and an wonderful thing happened. I bumped into a former event planning client from when I worked for a PR and events company, and he asked me what I was up to. He was the first person (besides my mom) that I told I was starting my own company, and he asked me to send him my resume. Later that week, his wife called me and asked if I could help her with her blog. The two of them became my first clients, and I am so happy to say that I still work with both of them on various projects!
Something wonderful happened that day, February 8, 2016, and since that day, I have had the opportunity to work on so many amazing projects for some truly wonderful people.
So thank you to everyone who has believed in me and supported me this past year! I could not have done it without all of you!!
Oh, and the freebie for this post is “Always Believe Something Wonderful is About to Happen.” I absolutely love this quote because so many wonderful things have happened to me this past year, and I choose to believe something wonderful is just around the corner.
